Ceremonies & Celebrations

Helping you craft memorable experiences to mark the rights of passage in your life & in the lives of those you love.

Looking for Ceremony In a Secular World?

Some of us were raised in traditions that we either accepted, transformed, or abandoned as we grew up. Others were raised without any regular sense of tradition or ceremony at all.

I’m not here to judge any of it.

I’m here to help you create meaningful markers for pivotal points in your life that you want to honor and remember – the good times, the sad times, the points of change, and those of letting go.

Let’s create an experience that combines what you believe with what you value and hold dear.

How It Works

We Meet

Ceremony creation is a very personal medicine. If we’re not a good fit, I shouldn’t be the one to help you.

We Talk

You tell me what you want and I make suggestions. Together, we create something wonderful.

We celebrate

In whatever way that means, given the circumstances. I can be a part of it, or not.

Entirely up to you.              It’s your day.

Don’t Take my Word For It

Unwedding

“We’d never heard of an ‘unwedding’ before until Dr. Campbell mentioned it. Once I thought about it, it made so much sense. It really helped us separate humanely and get on with our lives.

Wedding

“Janice arrived well prepared for our wedding, unlike the two of us. She performed the ceremony very efficiently with some humor thrown in for good measure. We highly recommend you work with her for your next event.”

– P&S (Ga, USA)

Memorial Gathering

“Janice recently officiated my sister’s Celebration of Life. They had been good friends for some time, so it was especially meaningful for her to do this. She is extremely professional and worked with our entire family to create a Celebration we were all happy with. (Not an easy task, as there are many of us.) Her kindness and guidance during this difficult time was immeasurable.”

Naming Ceremony

Janice was the ceremonial facilitator for my naming ceremony. This was the time in which I announced my self to a select group of friends as the person I have always been. She created a meaningful and heartfelt opening that allowed me to proudly present myself anew to the world. Janice also closed the ceremony with memorable words that affirmed who I am. She has the ability to truly know who the person being named is at their deepest core.

Frequently asked questions

If you have other questions not listed here, please drop me an email via the contact page and I’ll be happy to respond.

Is Dr. Campbell ordained?

I became ordained in 2015, once everyone was legally allowed to marry in the U.S. and just in time to perform 3 weddings and a funeral (really). I am ordained through the Open Ministry.

Can we include our religious beliefs in the service?

Of course! As long as you don’t need me to be a rabbi, ordained priest, or other religiously endorsed figure. If you do need that, we need to find you someone else to oversee your ceremony.

Is there a fee for Dr. Campbell's services?

Yes and that will be negotiated depending on how involved you want me to be, if I will be present at the event, how many people will be attending, and how complicated the details of the ceremony are. I do my best to work within everyone’s budget while also not discounting my contribution. Let’s discuss it.

Is the initial consultation free?

The initial 30 minute consultation is free. How else will we figure out if we’re a good fit?
