Membership

When the world shut down, I had time to really evaluate how I wanted to move in the world.

The result:

I left the big mental health practice where I worked and created an entirely new version of my practice, choosing to devote my talents to a smaller number of people and offer more than just individualized acupuncture.

See below.

This is not a concierge model that costs tons of money while still taking insurance.

This is individualized care in a setting that builds belonging and support for us all.

The details

I no longer take insurance. I consider it a shell game that benefits neither patients nor practitioners in the long run.

It’s said centuries ago, people paid their doctor only when they were well, never when they were ill, since it was the doctor’s responsibility to keep them well.

My membership model produces the same effect, while still allowing me to pay my office rent and feed my family. My time is worth more, the better you feel; and less, the more you need me.

Thus, I have more incentive to keep you in good shape.

My menu prices are lower than my old out-of-pocket fees by about $500/month for these benefits. I’m okay with that.

Best of all, lower costs and auto-payments save both of us from thinking about money when it comes to your health.

I get to focus on deeply tending a small number of people and devote my time to your care without having to spend unnecessary energy on marketing or insurance billing.

And you have the equivalent of a small town practitioner in partnership with you.

Research shows this also improves overall health.

How It Works

Reach out with questions

I talk to people all the time in the grocery store, at a coffee shop, or in a more traditional phone call or email exchange. I am happy to answer any and all questions up front.

Make an initial intake appointment

This is separate from the membership. It’s a test run that includes a lengthy discussion about what it means to be you, living in your body, followed by a physical exam and a needle treatment to release some of the things that have been weighing you down.

Discuss where you want to go next

Within a day or two of your intake, I’ll circle back to see if you want to proceed with membership. I make it a habit not to ask right after the intake treatment. Folks are usually feeling pretty great and I don’t want to take advantage of that post-treatment high.

Frequently asked questions

No question is too small. I’d be happy to talk with you and find out the best way I can help.

Is there a rate for people on a fixed income?

Yes. Please reach out to me directly to discuss this.

Is there a family rate?

Not at this time. Prices are already reduced from the average cost of individualized care in this area. If you would still like to discuss this. Please feel free to reach out.
