DmbI℠ Supporting
Research℠)
While DMBI℠ is unique to my work, there Is research that supports it.
1) As humans, we are not designed to go non-stop, whether that’s running full tilt physically (no walking, no sitting, etc.), or mentally (moving from one directed, focused task or meeting to the next without a break). During quarantine, Microsoft did some interesting research that illustrates this. See the image below.

2) A study published in 2021 found that the use of “novel deliberate metaphor” in meditation, like that used in DMBI℠, improves the affective mental state and activates meta-thinking activity.
Check out the abstract for this research HERE.
3) A 2023 study found that a 15-minute session of focused-attention meditation lead a group of non-meditators to experience a “reduced separation between self and the external world”, including other individuals. What could this mean for your organization? DMBI℠ is an strong catalyst in the development of a more cohesive, collaborative workforce. Behavioral Sciences article HERE.
4) Guided meditation is one of many ways to reduce stress and increase open-mindedness.
PubMed article HERE.
5) The practice and development of interoception (the sensing of bodily signals), a process integral to DMBI℠, is shown to decrease loneliness, improve social connection and support social cognition and awareness.
Full articles in PubMed HERE and HERE.
6) Ethical leadership has been found to be strengthened and nutured by regular mindfulness practices, such as meditation, as found in this article published by Sciedu Press, HERE.
7) Meditation improves attention, lowers fatigue, and supports self-regulation.
The PNAS publication of this research can be found HERE.
8) Meditation is influential in the develop of positive leadership traits and the ability to interrelate with coworkers, staff, and other stakeholders. HERE.
9) A 2023 National Institute of Health (NIH) study found that the health benefits of meditation include positive effects on the immune system and genetics, improved anti-inflammatory response, and an increase in healthy aging through appropriate telomerase regulation. A healthy workforce means lower insurance premiums and happier employees. PubMed article HERE.
